FoxCueFix FoxCue Camera, Mic, Import, Render Issues
Fix common FoxCue problems: camera or mic blocked, teleprompter voice tracking, website import failures, script generation errors, renders and share links.
Most FoxCue problems come down to browser permissions, server setup, or content FoxCue can't read. Find your symptom below. Each fix links to the full article.
Recording
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Start Recording is greyed out | Allow camera access for FoxCue in your browser's site settings, then reload. See Studio recorder. |
| Wrong camera or microphone | The studio recorder uses your browser's default devices. Change them in site settings, or use the slide recorder, which has a camera picker. |
| No audio from a shared tab | Screen sharing doesn't capture system audio. Narrate with your microphone. |
| Saving the take failed | Click Retry Save, or Download WebM and upload it later. |
| Background blur shows an error | Click the badge to reload the model. See Recorder settings. |
Teleprompter
| Problem | Fix |

| This engine needs Chrome/Edge (Web Speech API). | Switch to On-device, or use Chrome or Edge |
| Couldn't load the offline model. | Check your connection and retry, or switch to Cloud |
| Voice tracking loses its place | Read a few words exactly as written, or click Restart |
Sources and brand import

| We couldn't read this website. | The site blocks crawlers or needs JavaScript. Add pages as Text or URLs. See Sources. |
| The website crawler is unavailable. | The crawler isn't running on your server. Ask your administrator. |
| PDF or DOCX won't import | Not supported. Paste the text instead. See Add documents. |
| Logo not imported | Use PNG, JPEG or WebP. SVG and ICO aren't supported. |
Scripts

| Generation failed. | Try again. Your previous script is kept. See Script generation. |
Videos and exports
| Problem | Fix |

| Slides required | Generate slides first. See Narrated videos. |
| Partial export / Video saved with warnings | Captions or the 9:16 export didn't finish. Click Finalize Again. |
| Upload rejected | Use MP4, WebM or MOV up to 500 MB. Automatic edits accept up to 20 minutes. |
| The editing service is busy. | Click Retry Failed Step. Completed steps are kept. |
Sharing and integrations

| This link points to your local server. | FoxCue must run at a public address to share outside your computer. See Share links. |
| YouTube authorization is not configured on this server. | Use API Key · Public Videos, or ask your administrator. See Connect YouTube. |
| No reset email | Check spam. Email delivery must be set up on your server. See Reset your password. |
