Add Files, Notes and Single Pages as Sources
Add a text or Markdown file, paste notes, or save a single URL as a FoxCue source. Up to 200,000 characters each; mark private material Internal.
Besides crawled websites, you can add individual sources to FoxCue: a text or Markdown file, pasted notes, a single page URL or a list of URLs. Open Knowledge → Sources, click Add Source, and choose File, Text or URLs.
Add a file or notes
Choose File or Text
In Knowledge → Sources, click Add Source, then choose File (import a text or Markdown file) or Text (save notes or paste source material).
Pick the brand and title
Choose the Brand and give the source a Title. Brand ownership can't be changed after you save.
Add the text
For a file, use Import Text or Markdown. The text loads for review before you save, and the original file isn't stored. For notes, type or paste into Source Text. Each source holds up to 200,000 characters.
Set Visibility
- Public: can support publishable content.
- Internal: private notes, transcripts and customer material. It informs business knowledge but stays out of public scripts.
Click Create Source
The source is saved as its first revision.
Add a single page
Enter an Original URL and leave the text empty. Saving fetches that single page. It doesn't crawl the rest of the website. To import several pages at once, choose URLs and enter up to 24 URLs, one per line. To keep a whole site updated, connect it as a website, sitemap or documentation source.
The original URL can't be changed later. To use a different URL, create a separate source.
Not supported
PDF, DOCX, scanned images (OCR) and audio transcription aren't supported. Copy the text out of the document and paste it as Text, or save it as Markdown first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I upload a PDF of our docs?
Not directly. Copy the PDF's text into a Text source or a Markdown file. If the docs are on a public website, connect the site instead.
Will internal notes appear in my scripts?
No. Internal sources inform business knowledge but are kept out of publishable content.
