Product Map: Map Docs to Products and Roles

Use FoxCue Context to map your sources into products, modules, industries and user roles, see coverage gaps, add approved guidance and exclude sources.

Context turns your sources into a map of your business: products and modules, the industries and user roles they serve, and the evidence behind each. Open Knowledge → Context, choose a brand, and click Map Sources.

FoxCue uses this context automatically when it plans and writes content. You don't select evidence one by one.

Build the product map

Choose a brand

Open Knowledge → Context and pick a Brand. If you haven't created one yet, click Create Brand.

Map your sources

Click Map Sources. Progress moves through Gathering sources, Classifying source pages, Mapping capabilities and audiences, Building the map and Saving the map. You can Stop Mapping at any time and Retry Mapping later. Saved maps and edits stay available.

Explore the map

Switch Map layout between Matrix (capabilities by audience) and Hierarchy. Filter by area (Front office, Operations, Back office, Platform), depth (Modules or All Features) and audience (Industries or User Roles), or use Find a capability….

Read the coverage legend

Each cell in the matrix shows how well your sources back that capability for that audience:

LabelMeaning
Source-backedYour sources document it
Brand suppliedYou entered it yourself
Suggested fitAn AI suggestion, not yet backed by a source
Not documentedNo evidence yet. This is a content gap worth a video.

Click a cell or capability to see Cited evidence, Preview source, and its Problem, Solution, Workflows, Benefits and Constraints. Click Edit Details to correct it. Your edits stay with that branch when sources refresh.

Business positioning

Under Business Model, click Edit Positioning to describe what makes your business different (Positioning) and who you serve (Audience). Use Add Branch and Connect Branches to link products to industries or roles.

Understand Your Business

Understand Your Business builds a source-cited view of your business, products and customers. Optionally add a Website URL, up to 3 Documentation URLs, and up to 12 Silos to Create (industries or markets, one per line). FoxCue uses your brand details, brand kit, offerings, saved decisions and current sources. Your last successful context stays available while it runs.

The result, Business Understanding, separates Source-backed facts from AI recommendations and lists Gaps to Resolve.

Guidance

Switch the Context view to Guidance to add deliberate brand decisions, corrections or writing preferences. Save guidance as a Draft, then approve it. Approved guidance takes precedence over generated suggestions.

Exclude a source

In a capability's Related sources, click Exclude to stop a source from informing it (click Undo to reverse). Excluded sources are listed separately and can be restored. Use Open original to check the live page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find which docs should become videos?

Look for Not documented and Suggested fit cells in the matrix. They're the capability-and-audience pairs your content doesn't cover yet. Then plan them in Silos.

Does mapping cost credits?

Mapping uses AI. It counts under Suggestions & Research in Shared Credits, which have no monetary value.
