Auto-Record Product Demo Clips (Beta)

Beta: FoxCue's browser demo agent researches, records and narrates a short product demo for each script section, then attaches the clip automatically.

Section clips let FoxCue record a short product demo for each section of your script. A browser demo agent works out the steps, records itself using your product in a browser, adds voice-over, and attaches the finished clip to that section.

Beta

Section clips and the browser demo agent are in beta. Results vary by site, and labels and behaviour may change. Review every clip before you use it.

When to use it

Use section clips when a script section explains something on screen, like a setting or a workflow, and you'd rather not record it yourself. To record your own screen and camera, use the Studio recorder.

Generate a clip for one section

Open the script in Read mode

Save the script, then switch the editor from Edit to Read. Each section shows a clip button under its text.

Open the section's clips

Click the section's clip button. Section Clips lists any clips it already has. Click Generate Clip to open Generate Section Clip.

Describe the demo

Under What should it demonstrate?, describe what the clip should show. FoxCue fills this in from the section's text.

Optional: advanced settings

Advanced settings (logins, quality, engine and browser) let you choose a saved login, a Start URL and a Quality of 720p or 1080p HD. You can also show real-world evidence when a problem can't be reproduced on your account, and zoom in on each click.

Set the voice-over and start

Set narration in the Voice-over tab, then click Start agent.

What you'll see

The run moves through Research, Record, Narrate and Done. You can Pause, Resume or Stop it, and Stop keeps whatever was recorded. If the agent Needs your help, for example to sign in or pass a verification, answer in the panel and click Continue from Where It Stopped.

When it's done, the clip attaches to its section, and the section shows a check mark.

Generate clips for many sections

  1. In Read mode, click Generate All in the toolbar. The toolbar also counts how many sections already have a video.
  2. In Generate section clips, select the sections, then set the voice and placement once.
  3. Optional: under Advanced settings, set Saved Logins, Start URL, Video quality, Headless browser, Real-world evidence and zoom.
  4. Click Generate all. Sections run one at a time in the background, and each finished clip shows Attached to its section ✓.

Use clips in a video

  • Auto Video in the script's Video tab records any missing section demos, then stitches the slides and all demos into one narrated video. See Narrated videos.
  • In the storyboard, a moment with the Demo visual uses that section's clip. FoxCue warns you before a render if a demo moment has no recorded clip. See Slides, articles and storyboards.

Troubleshooting

  • "Video generation is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." The agent's AI service isn't available on your server right now. Try again later.
  • The agent needs to sign in. Add a saved login under Advanced settings, or answer Needs your help and continue.
  • The clip shows the wrong thing. Make What should it demonstrate? more specific, set a Start URL, and generate again. Older clips stay in Section Clips.

Frequently asked questions

Can it record pages behind a login?

Yes, if you add a saved login. Without one, the agent browses signed out.

Does it change anything in my product?

The agent operates a real browser, like a person clicking through your product. Use a test or demo account.
