Edit Video in FoxCue: Scenes and Timeline
Edit videos in FoxCue's browser editor: arrange scenes, layers and a timeline with a preview, then render an MP4 to download or share.
Video Projects is where you record, upload and edit videos in FoxCue. Open Create → Video Projects and click Create Video. Each project opens in the editor, with scenes, layers, a timeline and a preview, and renders to MP4 in Outputs.
Create a video project
Click Create Video and choose:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Record Video | Opens the studio recorder |
| Upload Video | Upload a recording and pick an editing style. See Upload a video. |
| From a Script | The AI plans scenes from your script. See New video from a script. |
| From Slides | Each slide becomes a scene with its narration voiced |
| Blank Project | Pick a style (recipe) and aspect ratio, then add scenes yourself |
The project list shows Title, Status (Ready to Review, Needs Attention, In Progress, Queued, Canceled, Editable), Editing Style, Aspect, Script and Updated.
The editor
| Area | What's there |
|---|---|
| Library (left) | Media, Blocks and Scenes. Click an item to add it at the playhead. Upload video or images here. |
| Preview (center) | Play / Pause, Back to start, Seek |
| Side panel (right) | Inspector, Director and Render |
| Timeline (bottom) | Tracks for Scenes, Blocks, Overlays, Text, Narration and Music |
Rename the video from its title. Saved shows when changes are stored. History lists every revision.
Scenes
- Add Scene, then reorder with Move scene up / Move scene down, or Delete scene.
- In the Inspector, set the scene's Beat, Layout and Layout content, and edit Narration or Transcript Notes.
- For recordings, audio comes from your recording. Notes don't replace it. Editing narration doesn't re-voice a scene.
- Cue timing anchors each entrance to a spoken word, so it re-times when the voice changes. Cues you don't set use the style's default stagger.
Layers
Select a scene to see its Layers. Click Add Layer, then set the Text and Style, an Image URL or Media Key, when it Enters and Leaves (scene start, scene end or on a spoken word), and its Entrance animation.
Timeline
- Click or drag to move the playhead. Drag items to retime them.
- Zoom in, Zoom out, Fit to width.
- Narration shows Audio in Recording or Not voiced. Music shows No music until you add a track.
Screen recordings & screenshots
Screen scenes need screen media. Under Screen Recordings & Screenshots, Upload files and describe what each one shows (for example, dispatch board → reassign day menu). Without screen media, screen scenes stay empty and Checks flag them.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Key | Action |
|---|---|

Checks
Checks looks at margins, word counts, contrast, timing and pacing against the style's rules. Run Quick or Deep. The result is Ready, Blocked or No issues found.
History
Open History to see each revision (Created, Restored, Imported, Edit). Restore takes the video back to that version as a new revision. Nothing is deleted.
Render
Open Render and click Render Video. When it finishes (Video rendered. Saved to Outputs.), click Download MP4. Add at least one scene first. If you see Reload this video before rendering, reload the page.
