Auto-Edit a Recording into a Product Tutorial
Pick a FoxCue editing style and get a first edit of your recording, with captions, product screens and visuals, that you review, adjust and export.
An editing style turns your raw recording into a first edit: FoxCue plans the cut, adds captions, product screens and supporting visuals, and keeps your original voice. You then review the result, edit scenes and export. Choose a style when you upload a video, or from Library → Editing Styles → Use Style.
This is a first draft of an edit, not a finished, hands-off video. Always review names, technical terms and visuals before you publish.
Start an automatic edit
Choose an Editing Style
After uploading or recording, the Choose an Editing Style dialog opens. Enter a Video Title, pick a Brand (or No Brand) and choose an Editing Style.
Set options
- Include Captions.
- Use Relevant Library Screens and Clips: pin screens or clips you want the editor to consider. Add reusable product screens in the Library.
- Create Supporting Illustrations: up to two images for concepts and scenarios. Product screens stay real.
Create Video
Click Create Video. Your original stays unchanged. Recordings up to 20 minutes are supported.
What happens while it edits
Progress moves through Understanding the Recording, Planning the Edit, Preparing Visuals and Audio, Rendering Your Video and Reviewing Frames and Audio. Your edit is saved. You can leave and return.
Review the edit
When it's Ready to Review:
- Compare Edited and Original in Video Preview.
- Check Chapters, Scenes and the Transcript.
- See Visuals (Source Visuals, Animated Workflows, Emphasis Graphics) and click Why This Visual to see where each came from.
- Read Edit Decisions. Review names and technical terms before publishing.
- Frame Review checks for Text Cut Off, Text Over Presenter and Overlapping Elements: Passed, Not Finished or Not Checked.
Then choose Edit Scenes and Captions (opens the editor), Change Style, Improve Visual Edit, Download Video or Prepare to Publish.
Editing styles
Library → Editing Styles shows the available looks, labeled Original Camera + Captions or Presenter + Visuals. Open one to Watch References or see its Reusable Blocks.
To make one yours, click Customize, then set Style Name, Pace, Presenter Time, Canvas (Paper or Dark), Occasional Camera Position and Presenter Framing (Focus on the Presenter or Keep the Full Frame). Saved styles appear under Yours. Earlier videos keep their original settings.
