Video Brief Template: Plan Before Scripting
Prepare a FoxCue brief from a topic: audience, objective, primary question, promise, outline, format, CTA, presenter and pinned sources. Then preview context.
A brief in FoxCue is your video brief: a plan for one piece of content. It records who it's for, the question it answers, what the viewer will learn, and which sources must be included. You can preview the exact context the AI will get before you open the script. Create briefs from a topic, or from a silo's Manual briefs tab.
Create a brief
Open a topic
In a silo, open Topics, choose a topic, then go to Briefs and click New Brief. Or use Manual briefs → Choose a Topic.
Fill in the brief
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Brief Title | A working title |
| Audience | Who it's for |
| Objective | What the content should achieve |
| Primary Question | The main question it answers |
| Related Questions | One per line, up to 20 |
| Promise | What the viewer will understand afterwards |
| Outline | The sections you want |
| Format | Educational, Walkthrough, Demo, Comparison or Short |
| Status | Draft or Ready. Ready marks your intent to create content from it. |
| Call to Action | The closing ask |
| Presenter or Expert | A profile from the brand's People. Their saved preferences are added to the context. |
| Evidence Sources | Optional pins for sources that must be included. Relevant public passages are retrieved automatically. |
Save and preview
Click Create Brief, then Preview Context to see exactly what the AI will use. Internal source text stays out.
Create content
Creating content from the brief opens a draft in the script editor. See Create a video script.
Troubleshooting
- "Selected evidence changed." A pinned source has a new revision. Review the brief and its sources, then save to confirm.
- "This brief changed in another session." Your edits are kept. Use Brief Actions → Reload Latest before saving again.
