Remove Filler Words and Silences from Video
Use FoxCue's Cut a video tool to trim dead air, remove um and uh, and drop earlier re-takes. Review every cut on a timeline, then export a tighter MP4.
Cut a video tightens a recording automatically. It trims dead air, removes filler words like um and uh, and drops earlier re-takes of a repeated line, while keeping the pauses that matter. You review every cut before anything changes.
Cut a video
Open the tool
Library → Editing Tools → Cut a video, then choose your video.
Set options
| Option | Choices | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Pacing (how much air stays between sentences) | Tight (playful), Relaxed (sentimental), Gentle (documentary) | Tight (playful) |
| Remove filler words (um, uh, er…) | On / Off | On |
| Remove earlier re-takes (keeps the last take of a repeated line) | On / Off | On |
Review the Plan
FoxCue transcribes the words and measures the pauses, in about a minute. The review shows Original vs After cuts, how much was Removed, Fillers, Re-takes and Silence trimmed, plus a Cut timeline marking each Filler word, Re-take cut and Re-take kept.
Check re-takes
For each re-take, Hear Both Takes, then choose which to Keep. Lines where you said "sorry" or "again" are flagged as Your Call.
Approve and cut
FoxCue re-encodes the kept segments. A five-minute video takes a few minutes. Then Download or Continue Editing.
Frequently asked questions
Will it cut pauses I meant to keep?
The Pacing setting controls how much air stays. Choose Gentle (documentary) to keep more natural pauses, and review the cut timeline before approving.
What if it doesn't find re-takes?
You'll see No repeated lines or "let me try that again" moments were found. Only fillers and silences are cut.
